A Review of Sandy’s Secret at Palmetto Beach
Sandy’s Secret on Caye Caulker is an oceanfront condo located south of the heart of Caye Caulker. The perfect place to relax and “go slow” as you enjoy this island paradise.
We stayed in Sandy’s Secret, which is an apartment on the first floor of one of the Duplex’s at Palmetto Beach. It is an oceanfront rental on Caye Caulker, Belize with a lovely porch facing the ocean. This was the perfect spot for morning coffee or basking in the hammock while reading a book. If Sandy’s Secret happens to be booked when you’re looking at coming, there are other apartments at Palmetto Beach that would be worth checking out. Laura’s Lookout is on the second floor of this oceanfront duplex and has a beautiful view of the coast. Weezie’s is right next door and although we didn’t stay here, it is another excellent option for a place to stay.
Sandy’s Secret had a pool. Although it is a shared pool, we had it to ourselves most of the times we used it. The pool was an exceptional way to cool off after a hot and humid day on Caye Caulker. I give it an A rating on cleanliness and the lounge chairs were all in good condition. My kids thought this was the best way to end each day in Caye Caulker, swimming in the pool at our oceanfront rental.
Location:
Situated just a short walk from the beach and the main attractions of Caye Caulker, our home rental, Sandy’s Secret, provides an ideal base for exploring the island. It was about a 10 minute walk to get to Caye Caulker city center. They also have bike rentals and golf cart rentals, which we took advantage of both options. We liked being a little south of the city center as it is a peaceful and quiet part of town, but still easy enough to get to all the restaurants and attractions.
Service:
The staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with local tips and ensure a memorable experience. They were very helpful when it came time to rent bikes or golf carts. You can also use kayaks and stand up paddle boards (free of charge), which staff will bring to your rental.
Prior to our arrival, we had excellent communication with the property management. They arranged to meet us after our Tropic Air flight landed and helped us with our luggage to our rental. They were efficient and quick to respond. Staff also arranged for a taxi to help us to the water taxi terminal when we left Caye Caulker and headed to Ambergris Caye.
Ambiance:
The resort’s atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for those looking to unwind and enjoy the island’s natural beauty. The shared dock is a great place to sip on morning coffee while watching the sunrise or relax after a day spent at The Split. Being oceanfront, this rental was an easy place to unwind and relax after a busy day in Caye Caulker, Belize.
Overall:
Sandy’s Secret is an excellent choice for travelers seeking a peaceful and comfortable stay on Caye Caulker, offering great value and a genuine taste of island life and no better way to do that then an oceanfront rental in Belize. The hospitality of the staff and amenities like bike rentals or kayaks make it a great place for families to enjoy this tiny treasure of an island.
