Exploring Taylors Falls, MN
Our family visits Taylors Falls about once a year, and it never disappoints. If you’re looking for attractions in Taylors Falls MN, you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained. The town’s mix of outdoor fun, historic charm, and delicious dining make it a great destination. We love checking out new spots, whether it’s a fun hike, mini golf, or a bite at one of the best Taylors Falls restaurants.
Dining in Taylors Falls
The Drive-In
A trip to Taylors Falls isn’t complete without stopping at The Drive-In, one of the most iconic Taylors Falls restaurants. This retro-style diner serves up mouthwatering burgers, crispy fries, and homemade root beer. You can eat in your car, sit inside, or enjoy the outdoor seating when the weather is nice.
Must-try items:
- Root Beer Floats – The perfect treat on a warm summer day.
- Bacon Cheeseburger – A classic favorite.
- Locally Sourced Bison Burger – A unique Minnesota specialty.
The food is delicious! We (obviously) start with root beer floats. Nothing better on a sunny summer day then a float at a diner. This adorable little Taylors Falls diner has the option of eating in your car, like an old fashioned drive-in restaurant, or getting yourself a table. We have dined both ways at the Drive-In, but if the weather is favorable, I would vote for outdoor seating.
The overall environment is enhanced by waitresses that wear poodle skirt, making it feel like the real deal. Unfortunately, they don’t wear roller skates! But even more, The Drive-In has locally sourced foods. This is my favorite part about this place. Supporting local business and farmers and knowing you’re getting the real deal makes this place extra special!
Schoony’s Malt Shop
If you’re looking for another great spot, Schoony’s Malt Shop is a must-visit. This charming eatery offers delicious pizza and some of the best ice cream in town. The interior is cozy, with brick walls and vintage décor, making it a fun place to stop for a sweet treat.
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. The brick walls, the tile ceiling, the decor. And of course, the ICE CREAM! We got Pirate’s Bounty and a one scoop banana split! Schoony’s is my kids favorite place to eat in Taylors Falls, MN, for obvious reasons.
